From your first ideas to possession and beyond, our team guides you through every stage—design, selections, pre-construction, construction, walkthroughs, possession, and warranty. With open communication, transparency, and collaboration throughout, you remain part of the process from beginning to end.
OUR PROCESS
STEP ONE: DISCOVERY MEETING
It starts with understanding you—your lifestyle, vision, priorities, budget, and where you want to build. During your Discovery Meeting, we’ll learn more about your goals, introduce you to Cornerstone, and walk you through what to expect from the custom building process.
STEP TWO: PROPERTY & LOT SELECTION
Already have land? We’ll evaluate the property and explore what’s possible. Still searching? Our team can help you find the right lot or acreage for your vision. If you’re building within one of our communities, our dedicated Community Sales Team will guide you through lot selection to find the homesite that best suits your home, lifestyle, and priorities.
STEP THREE: DESIGN YOUR HOME
Work alongside our team and architectural professionals to bring your vision to life. We’ll develop your plans, refine the details, and create a home designed specifically around you.
STEP FOUR: PROPOSAL & AGREEMENT
Once the design and scope are established, we’ll provide detailed pricing and specifications. When everything aligns with your vision, we finalize the agreement and prepare to move your project forward.
STEP FIVE: APPROVALS & PERMITS
We take care of the approvals required for your specific project, including engineering, permits, and applicable architectural or developer approvals. Requirements vary by project and location.
STEP SIX: BUILDING BEGINS
With plans finalized and permits in place, construction begins. Throughout the build, you’ll stay connected through scheduled walkthroughs, regular communication, and our team guiding you through each milestone until your home is complete. After possession, your journey with Cornerstone continues through our Customer Care & Warranty Program.
